We deliver training and development opportunities throughout the year for professional dancers including masterclasses, workshops and professional class at the Crescent Arts Centre.
ProDance
Classes take place when company are in rehearsals.
DanceLab Intensives
These intensives provide inquiry into technique and approaches to performance making for professional dancers and are delivered by invited guest facilitators.
Creative Encounters
This new strand of professional development is for dance artists wishing to develop one aspect of their creative or teaching practice. It provides paid time and space with other dance artists to explore ideas.
Graduate Lab
Maiden Voyage Dance GradLab is a paid opportunity for recent dance graduates from or based in Northern Ireland who wish to pursue a career as a contemporary dance artist.
GradLab offers participants an intensive professional experience to support their development both as individual artists and creative collaborators and build graduates dance connections within Northern Ireland.
As well as daily technique, engaging with company repertiore, creative exploration and choreographic investigations, the programme includes bespoke artistic mentorship and practical advice on the various aspects of building a portfolio career in dance. Grad Lab will run in early 2025. More info coming soon.
Student Placements
A limited number of university placement opportunities are available for those studying dance at degree level. We can offer work placements when the company are in production for the student to gain experience in the realities of life as a professional dancer joining in company class, observing development of dance work in studio and delivery of workshop programmes.
