Dance 2 Connect
Dance 2 Connect Lab 2025
Now in its 7th year, The D2C LAB is a professional development intensive for Irish and international dance artists who locate their practice at the intersection between street dance and contemporary dance theatre. D2C LAB fosters shared learning, offering dancers an opportunity to learn from each other’s techniques and performance strategies, diving deep into their choreographic pursuits.
This coming Spring, D2C founder and Artistic Director Matt Szczerek, along with long-standing partners Dance Ireland and, for the first time, Luail, will bring together selected dance artists to engage with a leading international guest choreographer/mentor. These intensives will run over a number of days, concluding with the showing of a short work in progress.
New Partnership
Through this new partnership with Luail, D2C will deliver workshop programmes in Belfast, Dublin, and Limerick. We are excited to announce this year’s mentor, Ques Zaalman.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Ques is a pivotal figure in Europe’s Krump culture, known for his role in “Gully District.” With nearly two decades of experience, he has contributed to various international battles and has taught Krump worldwide, partnering with legends like Tight Eyez. Ques’s repertoire includes appearances in music videos, national TV, and performance art in prestigious venues like the Boijmans Museum. Notably, he’s been the sole street style dancer at Club Guy & Roni’s NITE Ensemble in ‘The Underground’ for both 2022 and 2024.
