We offer a range of development opportunities throughout the year; from prodance weekly company class to bespoke training initiatives including DanceLab and somatic movement masterclasses.
This is a weekly class open to NI-based dancers, curated by Ryan O’Neill and delivered by a diverse range of both local and international dance artists. Prodance runs on Tuesday mornings from 10.00 -11.30 either via Zoom or live in studio at the Crescent Arts Centre.
These intensives further inquiry into technique and approaches to performance making for professional dancers and are delivered by invited guest facilitators. Information on new session coming soon.
This new strand of professional development is for dance artists wishing to develop one aspect of their creative or teaching practice. It provides paid time and space with other dance artists to further this enquiry. Creative Encounter artists in 2020/21 include; Helen Hall, Janie Doherty, Maeve McGreevy, Aisling McCormick and Elisabeth Higginson. Information and applications for 2022 open soon.
Somatic Movement Workshops
Somatic Movement is a system of neuromuscular education that allows more ease and freedom of movement and helps with the release of pain resulting from injury, stress, repetitive strain or habituated postures. Suitable for all ages and all bodies, courses take place throughout the year and online during the pandemic. Information on new session coming soon.
