MOVE FIT is a 24-week after-schools programme funded by Children in Need, Garfield Weston, and Victoria Homes Trust. MOVE FIT in particular will reach out to children who may not consider themselves ‘sporty’, offering a fun, physical activity without the competitive element, which can often be off putting to the very children who would most benefit.
The pilot programme is being delivered in 5 disadvantaged North Belfast primary schools-Currie PS, Holy Cross Girls PS, Holy Cross Boys PS, Holy Family PS and Lowwood PS. The workshops will be delivered by experienced dance facilitators with a track record of working with young children in school settings.
Out new team of MOVE FIT dance facilitators, including Ailing McCormick, Janie Doherty, Sheena Kelly and Rosie Mullin and the schools involved are very much looking forward to getting started!
