Early in September we were blown away by the opportunity to perform QUARTET FOR 15 CHAIRS as part of the Young International Festival, Zug, Switzerland.
The performances were well received by audiences of all ages: young children gasping at the mischief made by the four dancers and 15 chairs onstage, the cultural ambassador being moved to tears by the beauty of the dancing and a producer of children’s theatre being impressed by the polished performance and technical prowess of the dancers.
Maiden Voyage loved the buzz of this new festival and appreciated the warm welcome we received from the festival organisers.
Maiden Voyage loved the historical town of Zug itself, less than one hour from Zurich, trains that always run on time, set on a beautiful lake with the Swiss Alps in the distance. While we were there it was clear blue skies all the way and a heat wave of 26 degrees! Get there if you can.
Our visit was made possible by specific funding from the Arts Council International Programme and Culture Ireland.
